Backgammon Wagering Hints
Enjoying backgammon could be exciting, especially if you understand how to win by playing effectively. But every now and then a pointer or two might help you even more and make you a more accomplished player.
One of the better strategies to succeed is to block your opponent in. It will keep them from advancing their pieces out of your home board. This has to be completed early in the match to hold your competitors 2 pieces in your home boardthere. So you have to move your checkers to points 7, five, and 4 as rapidly as as you can and even two and 3 if achievable. Maintain your point of 6 with the six checkers where it is. This will guarantee that your opponent cannot get out of your home board and aid your chances of blocking them in to win.
By locking your opposition in, they will be looking for double sixes as soon as all other moves have been made to get those 2 checkers out of your home board. If doubles aren't tossed, your opponent will be compelled to shift 1 checker at a time, as long as they toss a 6 or greater, and leave 1 checker vulnerable behind. Of course in the process of veering off your own pieces, be certain you don't leave one alone where your opposition can send you off the board to go through their home board.
When in doubt, hit. This can help you win mainly because once your opponent is hit, that piece is the piece they need to move before they can do anything else on the board. So if you hit them multiple times, they will have to return a number of pieces back to the board and get around your checkers to succeed. Make sure you do not hit where it'll make you open to being hit yourself. Unless of course it will be beneficial to you, like early on in the game when your opponent will not have you blocked in.
Hitting when you have a block started can also be good because as soon as you get several points barricaded, your challenger will have a difficult time getting their checkers out of your home board and crushing you. It's even possible to hit them numerous times and get your barricade finished. That way you will be able to prevent them from re-entering the game and even having a chance at crushing you.
These 2 tricks are not the only way to win, but they're excellent ways for novices to grow into more skillfull enthusiasts. Once you conquer these, succeeding most of the time will not seem to be such a complex thing to do.
