As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and pure luck. The goal is to shift your chips carefully around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposing player moves their pieces toward their inside board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon techniques to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to shift her chips, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any movement of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's chips will either get hit, or result a bad position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be built anywhere between point 2 and point eleven in your game board. Once you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your opponent, your opponent doesn't even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your pieces and roll the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar - to harm your opponent's positions with hope to improve your chances of succeeding, however the Back Game technique utilizes different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is often employed when you're far behind your opponent. To participate in Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the pieces are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
