As we have dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and luck. The aim is to move your chips carefully around the game board to your inside board and at the same time your opposing player moves their chips toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player pieces heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for particular tactics at particular times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opponent by assembling a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he/she at all attempts to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point 2 and point 11 in your game board. After you've successfully constructed the prime to block the activity of your competitor, your opponent does not even get to toss the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice yet again. You'll be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The goals of the Back Game strategy and the Blocking Game strategy are very similar - to hurt your competitor's positions hoping to boost your odds of winning, however the Back Game plan utilizes different tactics to do that. The Back Game technique is often employed when you're far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This tactic is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are relocated is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
