As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your checkers carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opponent moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With opposing player chips heading in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at specific instances. Here are the last two Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to shift her pieces, the Priming Game plan is to completely barricade any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get hit, or end up in a damaged position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point 11 in your game board. As soon as you've successfully assembled the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, your opponent does not even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your chips and toss the dice again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are similar - to hurt your opponent's positions with hope to boost your chances of winning, but the Back Game strategy relies on alternate techniques to achieve that. The Back Game technique is generally used when you are far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this plan, you need to control two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This strategy is more complex than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the chips are moved is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
