As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and luck. The aim is to shift your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opposition moves their chips toward their inside board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips moving in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at particular times. Here are the last 2 Backgammon strategies to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Plan

If the purpose of the blocking tactic is to hamper the opponents ability to move their pieces, the Priming Game strategy is to absolutely block any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get bumped, or result a damaged position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be built anyplace between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. After you have successfully built the prime to prevent the activity of the opponent, the competitor doesn't even get to toss the dice, and you shift your checkers and toss the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The aims of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to hurt your opponent's positions with hope to better your chances of winning, but the Back Game tactic relies on different tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is often used when you're far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this plan, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to use in Backgammon seeing as it requires careful movement of your chips and how the pieces are relocated is partly the result of the dice roll.
