The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your chips around the Backgammon board and bear them off the game board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a match in Backgammon needsrequires both tactics and fortune. How far you will be able to shift your chips is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Players use a few tactics in the different stages of a match based on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your pieces into your inner board and get them off as quickly as you could. This tactic concentrates on the pace of moving your chips with absolutely no efforts to hit or barricade your opponent's checkers. The ideal scenario to use this strategy is when you believe you might be able to shift your own pieces faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor's chips; or 3) the opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking plan.

The Blocking Game Strategy

The main aim of the blocking strategy, by the title, is to stop your competitor's checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your checkers quickly. After you have established the blockade for your opponent's movement with a few checkers, you can move your other checkers quickly off the game board. You will need to also have a good plan when to withdraw and shift the pieces that you used for blocking. The game gets interesting when your opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
