As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a casino game of ability and good luck. The goal is to move your chips carefully around the board to your inner board and at the same time your opponent shifts their pieces toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With opposing player checkers shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for particular techniques at specific times. Here are the 2 final Backgammon plans to round out your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the purpose of the blocking strategy is to slow down the opponent to move her checkers, the Priming Game tactic is to completely block any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The competitor's checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a damaged position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The trap of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your board. Once you have successfully constructed the prime to stop the movement of the competitor, the opponent does not even get to toss the dice, and you shift your chips and roll the dice yet again. You will be a winner for sure.

The Back Game Tactic

The objectives of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game tactic are very similar - to harm your competitor's positions hoping to boost your chances of succeeding, but the Back Game technique relies on seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game plan is generally utilized when you are far behind your competitor. To participate in Backgammon with this plan, you have to control 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single checker) late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice toss.
