The objective of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the Backgammon board and pull them from the game board faster than your opposing player who works harder to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a game of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and good luck. How far you will be able to move your chips is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your pieces are decided on by your overall playing tactics. Players use a few strategies in the different parts of a game based on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Technique

The goal of the Running Game plan is to entice all your chips into your inner board and pull them off as quick as you can. This tactic focuses on the pace of moving your chips with no time spent to hit or stop your competitor's pieces. The ideal scenario to use this plan is when you think you might be able to move your own checkers faster than your opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have moved beyond your opponent's chips; or 3) your opposing player doesn't use the hitting or blocking strategy.

The Blocking Game Plan

The primary goal of the blocking plan, by the name, is to block your competitor's pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your chips rapidly. After you have created the barrier for your competitor's movement with a few chips, you can move your other chips swiftly off the board. The player should also have a clear plan when to withdraw and shift the pieces that you utilized for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opposition utilizes the same blocking strategy.
