The aim of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the game board and pull those pieces from the board faster than your competitor who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Winning a match of Backgammon needsrequires both strategy and luck. How far you can move your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing a pair of dice, and the way you shift your checkers are determined by your overall playing strategies. Players use different strategies in the differing stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent's.

The Running Game Plan

The goal of the Running Game technique is to entice all your checkers into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This tactic concentrates on the speed of advancing your chips with little or no time spent to hit or block your competitor's checkers. The ideal time to employ this tactic is when you believe you can shift your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your competitor's chips; or 3) the opponent does not use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary aim of the blocking tactic, by the title, is to stop your opponent's checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your pieces quickly. Once you've established the barrier for your opponent's movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other pieces swiftly off the game board. The player really should also have a good plan when to extract and move the chips that you utilized for blocking. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking technique.
