As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The aim is to move your checkers safely around the board to your inner board while at the same time your opposition moves their pieces toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips shifting in opposing directions there is bound to be conflict and the requirement for specific techniques at specific times. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to move her chips, the Priming Game strategy is to completely barricade any activity of the opposing player by constructing a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's checkers will either get bumped, or end up in a bad position if he at all tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be setup anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your half of the board. Once you have successfully assembled the prime to stop the movement of your competitor, your opponent does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your chips and roll the dice yet again. You will win the game for sure.

The Back Game Technique

The goals of the Back Game plan and the Blocking Game plan are similar - to harm your competitor's positions in hope to improve your chances of winning, however the Back Game technique relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is commonly used when you're far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon seeing as it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the checkers are relocated is partially the result of the dice roll.
