As we dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a casino game of talent and good luck. The goal is to move your pieces carefully around the game board to your home board and at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposite direction. With competing player chips heading in opposing directions there is going to be conflict and the need for specific tactics at particular instances. Here are the 2 final Backgammon tactics to round out your game.

The Priming Game Tactic

If the aim of the blocking plan is to hamper the opponents ability to shift their chips, the Priming Game plan is to completely block any movement of the opposing player by assembling a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's chips will either get bumped, or end up in a battered position if she at all tries to escape the wall. The trap of the prime can be setup anyplace between point two and point eleven in your half of the board. Once you've successfully built the prime to block the activity of your opponent, the competitor does not even get to toss the dice, and you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You'll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Strategy

The objectives of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game plan are very similar - to hinder your opponent's positions in hope to improve your odds of succeeding, however the Back Game tactic uses seperate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game tactic is frequently used when you are far behind your opponent. To compete in Backgammon with this tactic, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot late in the game. This technique is more difficult than others to employ in Backgammon because it requires careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are moved is partially the outcome of the dice toss.
