As we dicussed in the last article, Backgammon is a game of talent and good luck. The goal is to shift your checkers carefully around the game board to your home board while at the same time your opposition shifts their checkers toward their inner board in the opposing direction. With competing player chips moving in opposite directions there is bound to be conflict and the need for specific techniques at specific instances. Here are the last 2 Backgammon plans to finish off your game.

The Priming Game Strategy

If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move his pieces, the Priming Game tactic is to absolutely stop any activity of the opposing player by creating a prime - ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent's pieces will either get hit, or result a bad position if she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anywhere between point two and point 11 in your half of the board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to stop the activity of your opponent, the competitor doesn't even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you shift your pieces and roll the dice again. You'll win the game for sure.

The Back Game Plan

The aims of the Back Game tactic and the Blocking Game tactic are similar - to hinder your competitor's positions with hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game plan relies on different techniques to do that. The Back Game tactic is generally utilized when you're far behind your opponent. To play Backgammon with this tactic, you need to hold two or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This technique is more complex than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your checkers and how the checkers are relocated is partly the outcome of the dice roll.
